Surrounded by the calm and secluded waters of the Bay of Islands, The Landing is a spectacular, thousand-acre landscape of breath-taking ocean views, farmland and luxury accommodation.
Tucked within this lush green landscape is our vineyard. Blessed with long sunshine hours and warm coastal breezes, the ripening conditions are excellent. First planted in 2007 with Chardonnay and Syrah, we have recently expanded the area under vine to include Merlot, Pinot Gris, Sangiovese, Malbec, Montepulciano and Cabernet Franc. This will enable magnificent blends and some exciting new varietals to be developed over the coming years.
Our wines are made by award-winning winemaker Rod MacIvor at Marsden Estate, and cellared onsite at The Landing.
Since our first vintage in 2010, The Landing wines have won several awards including gold medals for our 2011 and 2012 Chardonnay at the New Zealand International Wine Show and 5 stars from Michael Cooper for our 2013 Chardonnay.
Dedicated to ecological preservation, our wines are accredited by Sustainable Wine New Zealand for their adherence to environmentally responsible grape growing and winemaking practices.
We regret that we do not have a cellar door open to the public, however our wines are available through our website www.thelandingvineyard.com and at a number of local restaurants.
